In mid-June our meadow is full of flowering smooth bedstraw, which looks amazing but is unfortunately an invasive weed that’s spreading rapidly across the north east. We also have the stands of goldenrod making themselves known and a lot of milkweed along our western edge too. Nature sightings include snakes, toads, so many species of spiders, fireflies every night, monarch butterflies, too many birds to mention, and finally our first black bear (a young one) passing through.
