Fattoria La Vialla is an idyllic farm and winery run by the famiglia Lo Franco nestled in the Apennine mountains in Tuscany. Their wine, pecorino cheese, olive oil, tomatoes and other outstanding products are available by mail order direct to consumers in the UK, as well as the USA, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and directly at the bottega on the farm. Most interestingly, Fattoria La Vialla also happens to be a teaching, working example of a successful organic and biodynamic farm with a strong commitment to nature, biodiversity, and the environment.

Over the course of two visits we have documented the extraordinary operation and got to know the people that make this place and its products so special. It became quickly apparent to us how everything is connected at Fattoria La Vialla – from the wildflowers to the bees, the compost to the grape vines, the sunshine to the solar panels, the olive groves to the olive oil, May’s rainfall to August’s tomatoes. Every element of this organic and biodynamic farm and winery is part of one living, thriving, organism.
